Originally Springbokfontein and today the largest town in the Namaqualand. Springbok was founded when a copper mine began operating in the area in 1852. The town is the centre of perhaps the most spectacular of the Northern Cape's springtime wildflower areas, located in the Klein Koperberge surrounded by high granite domes. A tourist friendly town with a well developed infrastructure.
